Cyber Security Boot Camp

// ""Building a skilled cavalry of cyber security practitioners is crucial..." //

Northern Cape Innovation Forum (NCIF), the institutional custodian for the development of innovation and technology in the Northern Cape province, has partnered with leading technology publication iAfrikan.com to conduct an annual Cyber Security Boot Camp, which will kick off on Tuesday, November 22 ,Kimberly, Galeshewe SMME Village.

A series of alarming data breaches and cyber attacks on well-known South African businesses were decoded in detail in a report published under the title "Data Breaches In South Africa," which was put together by iAfrikan.com under commission by the ABSA Group, to learn how security management systems were compromised resulting in loss of business trust and revenue.

The study documents the methods hackers used to infiltrate and attack well-known businesses including Ster-Kinerkor, Facebook, Experian, View Fines, and the eThekwini local municipality. iAfrikan.com will share their tech stack with attendees of the Cyber Security Boot Camp and illustrate how the sophisticated technologies enable internet searches on the open internet and Tor networks to flag breach detection.

"Building a skilled cavalry of cyber security practitioners is crucial on the path to transforming the Northern Cape province into a modern economy, to equitably safeguard the cyber traffic that is currently being upgraded in the province." “ The upcoming Cyber Security Boot Camp is one of many planned skills development programs the NCIF will be continuing through 2023. Planned programs also include Robotics & IoT, drone pilot training, 3D printing & fabrication. This will culminate in a global tech tour, where bright minds from the Northern Cape will be given a platform to export their ideas on an international stage “ remarked NCIF provincial coordinator Kabelo Mzolo.
